HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!! Everyone's talkin bout hellogoodbye

Check out the Article You had us at Hello by Amy Howard (here's a lil snippet of it):

Kline rushed the stage with Kurvink, Profeta and Head barreling behind.

"Them baggy sweat pants and the Reeboks with the straps," sang Kline.

The audience shrieked along with the T-Pain song reference. Kline introduced Head to the audience, warning them that they hadn't practiced yet.

pretty much hilarious

So Atlanta Music Blog reviewed hellogoodbye and though it was a good review and positive I found something super comical about it.....

Hellogoodbye
Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!
Drive-Thru Records
By Kim Burdges

If you have misplaced your ultimate 1980s mix-tape, don’t worry Hellogoodbye is to the rescue. In their first full-length album, the southern California quartet has created a blend of power pop ballads fit for any John Hughes or Cameron Crowe coming-of-age movie soundtrack. The breakout single “Here (In Your Arms)” with its swelling electronic score and catchy lyrics captures the excitement and uncertainty of new love. Tracks “I Saw It On Your Keyboard” and “Touchdown Turnaround (Don’t Give Up On Me)” are dance ready hits, in which these California boys are trying everything from heartfelt to comedic lyrics to woo the girl. In “Touchdown Turnaround (Don’t Give Up On Me),” lead singer John Kline proclaims, “little league ’93 taught me how to take defeat/ good thing there’s no mercy rule in love ‘cause I would long be beat”- keeping up with the nostalgic teenage sound of the entire record.

Hellogoodbye breaks from their electronic pop sound on a couple tracks, including “Oh, It Is Love”- in which the synthesizer is released with a mandolin. With or without synthesizer there is no mistaking Hellogoodbye’s California sound. “Oh, It Is Love” and “Baby, It’s Fact” are two great summer songs that could have been unreleased tracks from The Beach Boys Pet Sounds. Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! ends on a musically not lyrically mature note with “Two Weeks In Hawaii.” The song is reminiscent of The Postal Service’s electronic pop sound, but with lyrics like “you’ve got Polaroid/ and you even know how to rhyme/ I’d be overjoyed/ if we could just hang out sometime;” the song is rooted in 1989. Whether wanting to muse over first love or looking for a new summer soundtrack, Hellogoodbye has created an album of pure music candy that will have kids of all ages wanting to indulge.

Myspace Bulletin - studio updateskis

how's it going, my dearie? have you been getting enough calcium, enough protein? (most meat eating americans get 4 times the recommended amount of protein for their bodies, so ah i guess its not really an issue). you know i worry about your health, though. you look so good when you have been getting enough b-12.

there's not much to update from the studio quite yet. my garage is rad and i wanna take pics and list my gear and make a studio website like chris walla or tahiti 80 have. i don't need a website like that, cause i don't plan on recording for hire for while (someday though, so start saving!) but i just want one. so fun. i've been jammin out, experimenting in the studio like a mad man. its really fun, im reallllly excited about the little seedlings of mind warping conceptual rock-outs i've got going. actually tonight i recorded a karaoke version of chelsea and rachel (thats me and travis' girfriends) doing time of my life. maybe we'll shoot a video for it and go for it as a single! they have passion and soul. anyways, it'll still be a long while till this record is really coming along, but i really am excited. its been so long since i've sat down and just toyed around and sang and played and wrote and i feel like exciting ideas are just pouring out. exciting/excited/excite/excitable/excitebike are all good words to describe this phase of the writing/recording process. everything feels very inspired and easy so i can't wait to fully develop it all.

over the next few months, we're playing a few shows at colleges and stuff here and there if you wanna drop in and say hello. so check those dates.

also, we're re-releasing our old EP and full length. i know... more OLD music? aren't i working on NEW music? don't sweat it, it wasn't my idea really (not that i think theres anything wronnng with it). but if you haven't already picked up on of those CDs, now would be a terrific opportunity to do so, since theres a bunch of old school demos / bsides and live show dvd footage involved. if you already paid good hard money for our records i'd never ask you to do it again, and you can even get most of those b side things (and you always could btw) on our website under media / discography. so don't worry because fresh, sexy, seductive, NEW music is coming soon. well. in a few months. well. prolly actually out like end of this year. something like that. and then we'll all get naked.

love, forrest

Platinum Selling Artist HELLOGOODBYE Release Expanded Editions of Their Hit Albums

Platinum Selling Artist HELLOGOODBYE Release Expanded Editions of Their Hit
Albums
Additional tracks, video and behind the scenes footage available for the first
time

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently ranked in Billboard Magazine
as No. 13 Independent Album of the Year, February 19, 2008, marks Southern
California supa-group HELLOGOODBYE's release of HELLOGOODBYE EP/DVD SPLIT
(Drive-Thru Records/Ume), their poptastic self-titled debut EP. The expanded
version of their full-length album ZOMBIES! ALIENS! VAMPIRES! DINOSAURS! is
aptly titled, ZOMBIES! ALIENS! VAMPIRES! DINOSAURS! AND MORE! (Drive-Thru
Records/Ume).
(Photo: www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080109/LAW004)
Best described by the Los Angeles Times as "freshman-crush
meets-sugar-rush," HELLOGOODBYE's EP (2004) quickly became an internet
sensation as one of the first artists to gain a million plays on MySpace and
PureVolume. They enthralled audiences with dynamic and festive live
performances and once the quirky quartet was featured on MTV's The Real World
Austin in 2005, their popularity skyrocketed. HELLOGOODBYE EP/DVD SPLIT
features 15 bonus tracks of rare previously unreleased songs, alternate mixes
and demos of favorite tracks like "Bonnie Taylor Shakedown ... 2K1" and
"Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn" and, for the true fans, the prequel to "Jesse Go
To Prom," "Jesse Buy Corsage." The new packaging also contains OMG HGB DVD
ROTFL, featuring 5 music videos, live concert footage, and behind the scenes
hi-jinx.
Coined as one of the "Most Anticipated Releases of 2006" by Alternative
Press Magazine, HELLOGOODBYE's follow-up full-length album, ZOMBIES! ALIENS!
VAMPIRES! DINOSAURS! hit the streets in August of '06 and yielded the Top Ten
Platinum single, "Here (In Your Arms)." The video for the single debuted on
MTV's "The 10 Spot" and enjoyed Top 8 rotation. ZOMBIES! ALIENS! VAMPIRES!
DINOSAURS! AND MORE! includes the bonus track "If You Wanna I Might" and
alternate versions and demos of the original track-listing, plus a concert DVD
of HELLOGOODBYE's sold out smashing performance at The Avalon in Boston, MA
May 6, 2007.
Hot off the inaugural "MySpace Sponsored Tour Series" HELLOGOODBYE spent
the remainder of 2007 on a sold-out headlining tour of the UK. Next year, the
band will begin writing and recording a follow-up full-length album for
release in fall 2008.
